President's Observations

The Kansas Black Chamber Foundation working with the Kansas Black Chamber (KBCC) has put a focus on developing strategies and business models to identify and/or develop 500 additional black minority businesses in the urban core areas of Kansas so that jobs can be created and black entrepreneurs can be coached to success.

Last year, we saw over 500 individuals; addressed the needs of over 75 black minority businesses; and coached over 50 aspiring entrepreneurs. More research and monitoring must be done to understand the trend and to develop a successful strategy/model for growing black minority businesses in the state of Kansas.

The Kansas Black Chamber Foundation strategizes, coaches, educates, provides contact resources and provides critical information to business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs. The organization also provides inspirational, entrepreneurial, financial, legal and other support services to the black minority business community regardless of ability to pay.

We estimate that successfully doubling the number of black businesses will generate over $120,000,000 to the Kansas economy and create over 250 jobs in the urban core areas of Kansas.

Frank Clay, Jr.
President.
